A new Abell plowing and threshing engine on display at the Toronto factory. This tractor was popular for breaking and plowing the Regina gumbo.


"Change occurred rapidly on prairie farms when steam-driven engines arrived. Most of them could do the work of 50 horses, thus encouraging the move towards larger farms. Manufactured in Eastern Canada there would be a brief age of steam on the prairies before gasoline tractors began to dominate."
