ARCHIVES WEEK 2008 CALENDAR OF EVENTS

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4

CBC Radio Saskatchewan, Blue Sky program, 1:00 p.m. phone-in program about archives in Saskatchewan. SCAA Executive Director Carey Isaak and City of Saskatoon Archivist Jeff O Brien will be the guests.


TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5

Spotlight on the Past: Celebrity Readings from Archives in Saskatchewan

Roadmap to Your Past: Genealogy Open House at Saskatchewan Archives Board

Come and discover some of the many genealogical resources and services at the Saskatchewan Archives Board to help you piece together your past. Displays and presentations by genealogical partners including Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society, the Saskatchewan Conference of the United Church of Canada, and the Anglican Church of Canada (Qu Appelle Diocese).


SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10

Archives Road Show at the Saskatoon Heritage Festival
Western Development Museum, Saskatoon
12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.

Representatives from a few of Saskatchewan's archival organizations will be at the festival to assist visitors with questions about archival research, resources available at local archives about visitors' research topics, taking care of personal and family archives, and archives in general. Institutions represented will include the Saskatchewan Archives Board, City of Saskatoon Archives, University of Saskatchewan Archives, Local History Room, Diefenbaker Canada Centre and the Saskatchewan Council for Archives and Archivists. They will have a variety of research tools as well as samples of their collections. The public is invited to take advantage of this panel of specialists to have any questions answered, or just come and look at the exhibits.
