Documenting the Dakota: School Reports

In these selected reports from the Presbyterian School Reports files for the years 1897, 1898, and 1901-02, there is great detail shared about the education that Lucy Baker and her assistant, Annie Cameron, provided to the school children.   These records track the progress that Lucy and Annie made with regards to teaching the Dakota children and their parents about the Presbyterian religion, the English language, and Euro-Canadian cultural practices.  These reports also give some indication of other reserve activities and events that impacted on the school children and their families, including illnesses, social gatherings, and farm work that was happening on the reserve.
