Documenting the Dakota: Wahpeton Reserve

This photograph was taken by Prince Albert photographer, T.H.J. Charmbury, sometime between 1900 and 1918.  Although the location of this community is not recorded, it is likely the Wahpeton reserve which is located north of Prince Albert across the North Saskatchewan River.  Charmbury took many photographs of the Dakota people from this reserve. He usually recorded their names in both English and Dakota.
