Accessing Government Records

Restricted government records acquired by the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan may be viewed by the original (or successor) ministry, Crown Corporation or agency for research or reference purposes.  Government records must be consulted onsite at the Provincial Archives. This ensures that the integrity of the material in the PAS permanent collection is maintained, as well as limits the potential loss or damage/changes to the material.

Authorized personnel may view the material onsite at the PAS reading room during regular reference hours.

Requests are to be made using the Control and Request Forms, which are available from Appraisal, Acquisition, Legislative Compliance and Access or Reference and Outreach Services.

If you have any questions about the authorization process, please contact Appraisal, Acquisition, Legislative Compliance and Access at (306) 787-6985 or cholmes@archives.gov.sk.ca.
